Timeline term: storyboard
A storyboard is the plan of an episode as a sequence of frames or cards, one per shot or scene, drawn before video is generated. From 8 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
Several editors make the storyboard the place where redos happen: a shot is re-prompted on the board and only approved frames are turned into video.
A storyboard redo is usually cheaper than a video redo, because images cost less to generate than video.
1How editors use it
| Editor | What the pages say | Behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Crreo AI | Scenes on a storyboard become clips; the finished video's maximum length is set by the plan, from 10 to 30 minutes | Unit |
| DirectStudio AI | An interactive storyboard of shots grouped into scenes; videos are then generated for all scenes | Unit |
| M Studio | Any shot on the storyboard is reframed or re-prompted, and clips are made one shot at a time | One-unit redo |
| MagicLight | Scenes are adjusted one by one in a storyboard editor; scripts of up to 12,000 characters give about 50 minutes | Unit |
| Pippit | Story Studio splits the script into scenes and episodes and generates visuals for each part | Unit |
| PopShort AI | Episode scripts become storyboard prompts and video; plans estimate 1–2 or 3–4 minutes of generated video | Unit |
| Story.com | Specific storyboard frames are regenerated after editing their descriptions | One-unit redo |
| Toonkit | Image cuts and video cuts, generated scene by scene from a storyboard | Unit |
Inclusion rule. Editors whose logged statements use the term or its usual equivalent; one line each. Order. Alphabetical by tool name.

SceneMixer turns a novel into a watchable short-drama series in one pipeline: upload the novel (Chinese or English) → AI extracts characters, scenes, and an episode-by-episode structure → generates consistent character and scene art → writes storyboard scripts → renders video segment by segment (16:9 by default, 9:16 in one setting) → composites full episodes.
