Inside an episode: how an episode is built

All 28 editors say something about how an episode is built. Among those, the reading given most often is “Scenes”, for 11. Each row carries the first statement logged; the full wording is on each editor's page. As of 2026-09-25.

EditorReadingWhat the pages say
Character AppTakesTakes that are kept become Clips, and the Clips assemble into the Episode in order
Crreo AIScenesScenes on a storyboard become clips; the finished video's maximum length is set by the plan, from 10 to 30 minutes
DirectStudio AIShotsAn interactive storyboard of shots grouped into scenes; videos are then generated for all scenes
DomoAIClipsOmni Reference generates 4 to 30 seconds per run; an episode is several approved clips
FilmoraScenesVisuals are generated for each scene of the script, then assembled into the drama
FrameoShotsShots generated on a canvas are built into a cut and exported
GenraScenesThe idea becomes a structured scene plan, shown as scene and shot-group cards
Google FlowClipsClips are arranged in sequence, reordered and trimmed into a scene in Scenebuilder
HeyGenScenesThe movie is produced scene by scene, with each shot rendered after the plan is approved
HiggsfieldScenesA generation of up to one minute arrives as an assembled scene
ImagineArtShotsShots are expanded into scenes, animated one by one and lined up on a timeline
LTX StudioShotsShots of 3 to 20 seconds depending on the model, combined in the Timeline into longer videos
M StudioShotsThe script breaks into shots; each shot becomes a video clip of 3 to 15 seconds, laid out on a timeline
MagicLightScenesScenes are adjusted one by one in a storyboard editor; scripts of up to 12,000 characters give about 50 minutes
Novi AIClipsClips adjusted one by one in Manual Mode; dramas run from under a minute to several minutes
OiiOiiShotsNarrative videos longer than 60 seconds are stitched from shots; 15-second clips are also supported
PexoShotsEvery shot is generated and stitched into one video; the guide says there is no fixed duration cap
PippitScenesStory Studio splits the script into scenes and episodes and generates visuals for each part
PopShort AIScenesEpisode scripts become storyboard prompts and video; plans estimate 1–2 or 3–4 minutes of generated video
Revid AIScenesVideos are frames and slides on a timeline; there is technically no length limit
SceneMixerSegmentsAn episode holds segments, and a segment holds every take generated of it
Scenes AIClipsClips, each animated from a still frame; a finished video is set from 15 seconds up to 5 minutes
Story.comScenesInstamovies are 15 to 90 seconds; the AI Video Editor timeline has no maximum length
StoryShortScenesAn episode runs 30 seconds, 1, 2 or 3 minutes, and a scene is the unit that is made again
ToonkitShotsImage cuts and video cuts, generated scene by scene from a storyboard
Topview Drama StudioBeatsApproved beats are opened one by one in a production workspace; the example project has an eight-beat episode
TrendShortShotsThe storyboard is a list of shots, each one focused action; shots are composed with their audio before export
VivideoShotsA video is built shot by shot, with a model chosen per shot; long-form videos reach 10 minutes

Inclusion rule. All 28 editors on the register; an editor whose pages skip this behaviour shows not said. Order. Alphabetical by tool name.

1About this behaviour

Every editor on the register names the unit it generates, because building from several units is part of the rule for being here. The words differ: scenes for eleven, shots for ten, clips for four, and one each for takes, segments and beats. The same word can mean different lengths; a scene is a few seconds on one tool and a minute on another.

Where a vendor gives a length, it is recorded beside the unit: a range per shot, a cap per generation, or a length for the assembled video. Those are different numbers, and the reading keeps them apart.
