Assembly note: planning a retake budget
Plan for redos from the start: a share of units will need a second or third generation. Since redos are charged like first runs where vendors say, the budget is first pass times an expected retake rate. From 7 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
Tools that return several variations per run fold some retakes into the first pass; tools with a no-credit mode move them from money to time.
The cheapest retake is the one made on a storyboard frame before any video exists.

2How one pipeline handles it
The episode pipeline SceneMixer documents has its own answer to “Planning a retake budget”; two lines from its pages:
Its character becomes the tone of the episode’s own score, which is planned from the episode’s storyboard — usually one to three pieces — and mixed under the voices.

An AI short drama is a serialized show of 60–120 second vertical episodes whose cast, sets and footage are generated by AI. Making one takes six steps: analyze the script into episodes, lock a consistent cast with reference art, localize for your market, write and edit storyboards, generate each 4–15 second shot, then composite and publish.
